Ellis Robinson was a native of Sheffield, he attested on 17th of October 1916 at the age of 18 years and 5 months. He was a wood work machinist by trade. He served in the 6th, 7th and 2nd Battalions of the Y & L R.

Biography

On the 26th of October Ellis was hospitalised for five days suffering from Trenchfoot. On 17th July 1918, he sustained a GSW to the Lower Back which again saw him admitted to hospital. He rejoined his battalion on 16th August.

Ellis was sadly killed in action on the 8th of October 1918. He was laid to rest in Cross Roads Cemetery Fontaine Au Bois.

The group comes with his scroll in original postages tube and transmittal slip for the medals.
