James Andrew Jaftha was born in October 1907. He was a labourer by occupation, married and lived at 1st Avenue Claremont, Cape Town.

He attested into the Cape Corps on the 10th of March 1942 and was finally discharged on the 8th March 1946 after having seen active service in North Africa and Italy. A nice group of six to a man of colour.

His medals are all confirmed in his service cards. The medals were dispatched to him in May 1952.
