42831 Captain V.L.J Meager, QSC and GSC

A group with a huge amount of research. Over 750 pages from the SANDF Archives in Pretoria.

Victor Lewis Joseph Meager began his military career as a Pte in 1932 and eventually retired in 1970 as a Major. Arrived in the ME in late 1943 thus missing the qualifying date for Stars. He applied for the John Chard medal in 1963 but was awarded the Efficiency Medal instead in 1964. Interesting that an Officer be awarded the Efficiency Medal. Must have had something to do with the fact that a great deal of his qualifying time was in the ranks ??

All the research which includes personal documents will be sent to the purchaser on disc. A wonderful project for someone with much time on their hands!!
