WWI South African Pair to Pte T.J HOLDER 1st SAI (KIA)

WW1 South African Pair (KIA)

Missing Death Plaque

The BWM and the Bilingual Vic are both named to the 1st SAI.

Theunis Johannes Holder was, as far as I can tell, killed in action around the area of Gauche Wood on the 9th January 1918.

The 2nd and 4th Regiments were relieved by the 1st and 3rd Regiments on the 8th December 1917. They remained however, in the area of Gauche Wood until the 13th January 1918 when the SA Brigade came out of the line for a 10 day rest.
